William Danny Ray aka: Steele Will was born November 24, 1979, in Bronx, N.Y. He was raised by his phenomenal parents William Davis and Vanessa Ray Davis, with good Christian values and was always in the company of wonderful musicians. William began is drumming at the tender age of 6yrs old accompanying his older brother on drums and percussion at St. Luke. A.M.E Church in Harlem, N.Y.
Very soon his chops and skills on the drums were noticed by some key musicians. His Father of whom was an awesome Percussionist, which drove William straight to drumming with a purpose. He later moved to N.C where he went to become a professional drummer, which eventually became known for the skills in being a solid pocket drummer and percussionist, hence the name Steele Will Derived.
William has shared the stage with many great artists such as Timothy Wright, Martha Munizzi, Maurette Brown Clark, Cece Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Wake Chapel Church, Catina Rosemond, Veronica Evans and Grace the Movement.
He currently plays Bishop Willam Barber Repairers of the Breach, Freddie Green, Cd and the Mix, William also played along with Project 919 Band, Johnny White & the Elite Band, Lamont Bradshaw and several others.
William has recorded with Wake Chapel Church (Bishop J. Jasper Wilkins), Catina Rosemond Ray, Liz Hopkins, and Veronica Evans and has made several T.V. appearances on WRAL Spiritual Awakening and CNN-NAACP, to name a few.
William Ray is now known as an accomplished, skilled and dependable Drummer and Percussionist.
